Home / Admissions
A no-fee school. A friendly conversation. No entrance exam.
We accept Grade 1 admissions and transfer placements year-round, subject to space. Our admissions process favours the family that needs the school most. We do not select on academic test results — that is not who we are.
Grade 1 Admissions for the 2027 Year
Who we welcome — and what we ask of families.
Intake & Catchment
We aim to admit 28 learners into our two Grade 1 classes for 2027. Priority goes to children residing within a 10 km radius of the school gate — that means the Morokologadi section, the Rhenosterkraal area, and the four neighbouring farms. Children from outside the catchment are placed on a waiting list and offered remaining seats in October.
Eligibility
- Child turns 6 by 30 June 2027 (in line with the DBE age-grade norm).
- Lives in or near the school’s catchment area, or has a sibling enrolled.
- Speaks Setswana, IsiZulu, English or Afrikaans at home — we welcome all four.
Documents we’ll need
- Child’s unabridged birth certificate.
- Road-to-Health booklet or up-to-date immunisation record.
- Previous school report (for transfer learners only).
- Parent or guardian’s South African ID or refugee permit.
- Proof of address (any utility bill, lease, or a letter from the local councillor).
Our admissions conversation
Once paperwork is submitted, we invite the family for a relaxed thirty-minute meeting with the class teacher and principal. Half the time is a conversation with the parent or caregiver about the child’s home life. The other half the child plays in a small group with two of our teachers — we look at how they listen, share and try. This is not an exam. No child is turned away on the basis of these activities.

Transfer placements
If you’re moving in mid-year, walk in.
We accept transfers into Grades 2–6 throughout the school year, subject to space. Bring the child’s last school report and ID. Most families are placed within a week. We’ll partner with the previous school’s teacher where we can — SA-SAMS makes this easier than it used to be.
Talk to admissions →“Every child who walks through this gate carries something we don’t yet know about. Our job is to find out and protect it.”
